Toys and games go back hundreds of years but our interest mainly spans the period 1800 to 1970. We are always looking to buy vintage toys. Especially interested in tinplate and penny toys; good condition diecast models (Dinky, Matchbox, Corgi, Schuco, Bandai, Benbros, Bing, Brimtoy, Budgie, Chad Valley, Danbury Mint, Eko, Franklin Mint, Lincoln International, Exoto, Oxford Diecast, Britains, Triang, Tomica, Onyx, Lone Star, Crescent, etc etc etc); model railway items; space toys; dolls and teddy bears; clockwork items; antique wooden toys (before 1940); steam powered toys and models (such as those by Mamod, Bing, Aster, Radiguet, Schoenner, Bassett-Lowke, Stuart Turner, Marshall etc etc etc); very early boxed jigsaw puzzles; magic boxes and tricks; early Disney items; puppets; cap guns/pistols and other cowboy toys; toy soldiers; tv and film related toys; automata; any old or unusual toys, games, puzzles or playthings!
Below is a variety of toys that we have bought and sold over the last ten years or so.
This is a superb antique (c1890) papier mache French bulldog pull along toy with hinged jaw; it growls when the chain is pulled. The dog has original coconut hair ruff, flock hair and glass eyes.
Recently purchased: a complete collection of mid 1970s Doctor Who Toys in mint condition with original boxes. Difficult to find these in this superb condition and we have cash waiting for similar collections!
We have just bought (and sold) this rare tinplate motorcyclist and sidecar toy made in the very early part of the 20th Century by the German manufacturer Distler. A real gem – Penny Toys don’t come much more special than this. Gotta love tinplate!
